 With the 2008 Mustang, the road that gets you there is always more important than the destination. Now, you'll carve up the pavement in a platform that's better than ever. So get ready for a new obsession - the Legend lives!The all new Mustang GT's 4.6L 3-valve V8 delivers a thunderous 225kw of power and 435nm of torque, while the intelligent traction control (which can be deactivated if you really want to "light 'em up") delivers Mustang's legendary rear-wheel-drive power firmly and evenly to the pavement.
The coveted 300hp (225kw) threshold - previously reserved for limited-edition Mustang Mach 1 and SVT Cobra models - is now standard on every Mustang GT, and this is achieved using standard unleaded fuel. The aluminium 4.6L V8 engine, sporting a 3-valves per cylinder head arrangement, delivers Mustang's thunderous 225kw of power and 435nm of torque. Ward's Autoworld has named it one of their '10 Best Engines' of 2008. Located on both sides of the engine block, liquid-filled engine mounts help absorb vibrations by keeping them off the chassis and out fo the cabin.
With fastback and convertible body styles, you'll really turn some heads. Precise craftsmanship and quality materials set new standards in muscle-car interior style, while the interior options include features such as MyColor™ instrument panel lighting that allows you to choose from 125 background colours, satin-aluminium-finish instrument panel, leather wrap steering wheel and, of course, leather-trimmed sports seating.
Mustang's taut exterior sheet metal isn't the only surface that turns heads. Inside, you'll be treated to a masterpiece of modern design. Quality materials, precise craftsmanship and technical innovations set new standards in muscle-car style. And thanks to efficient use of interior space, all 4 occupants have the room they need to enjoy the ride - especially the lucky one behind the wheel!
Comfort is enhanced by driver and front-passenger one-touch-up/down windows, power mirrors, power doorlocks with remote keyless illuminated entry. The variable-intermittent windscreen wipers and rear-window defroster ensure you can see your way, while cruise control keeps your mind on the road instead of your speed. The 6-way power driver's seat with power lumbar keeps you comfortable and safe. Dual trunk-mounted subwoofers provide maximum audio performance, yet remain out of the way of key storage area, due to the space-saving subwoofer enclosure in the right hand side of the boot area.
